Are you ready for your MOT test?

MOTThe MOT is an annual test which is a legal requirement if your car is over 3 years old. We are a 'green' testing station on DVSA. We MOT all class 4 vehicles to a high standard. No retest fee and we will try our utmost to get your car through the test first time, unlike the cheaper MOT stations who will fail the car and then charge you a retest fee.......

There are six things that you can do to prepare for the test which may make you feel better........
  • Tyres
Ensure your tyre pressure is OK. You can check this by taking your petrol station to check it.  Are your tyres above the legal limit of 1.6mm across the centre of the tyre?
  • Windscreen
Check there are no cracks or chips in your windscreen. Another easily avoided fail is forgetting to top up the screen wash reservoir.
  • Lights
Lights are the biggest failure on the MOT test… you can check that all internal and external ones are working. You may need someone to help you check them or use your garage doorJ
  • Brakes
You need to know that your brakes are in good working order. These will be checked by a machine and the results are sent to the DVSA. Check your brake fluid level. If you hear any scrapping noises or have a brake light illuminated on the dashboard – get these changed before your MOT test.
  • Emissions
Your car will be checked on the emissions test…. The numbers need to comply with those perimeters that are given by the DVSA…. Please ensure you have enough fuel for the emissions test to be completed.
  • Last but not least – number 6
Keep your number plates clean and easy to read. Seat belts are secure and free from fraying. Does your horn work?Last piece of advice………….. DON’T WORRY!! Guide Bridge will try to get your car through the test on its first go…. See our MOT page for more information
